Show No. 4
Released: 17th of January, 2007
Nearly ten months have past and finally I get things together for show 4. This show features another 8 tracks including one piano-only one and fine selection of Canadian music. The sound quality of the links isn't the best but I'd better release the show.

Tracks
Low Life - Scanners
Scanners come from London and released their debut album “Violence is Golden” in June last year. This track “Low Life” is the first single from that album.

Down the Road - Rob Costlow
A wonderfully simple track from Rob Costlow’s album “Woods of Chaos”. I don’t normally like piano heavy tunes and this one is all piano however I still love it.
Mass Romantic - New Pornographers
A great tune from the New Pornographers, and yes I do call them “Poronographers” in the podcast. Silly me!
Length: 4:11 / Size: 5.8MB / Label: Matador Records / Catno: OLE-540 / Download
Portland Town - A Hack And A Hacksaw
This track is a cover of a song by Derroll Adams. It comes from the 2005 album “Darkness at Noon” from this Albuquerque twosome.
Length: 5:15 / Size: 2.5MB / Label: The Leaf Label / Catno: BAY 43CD / Download
Way It’s Gon’ Be - Vancougar
My new found love of Canadian music gets another shot in the arm (an unfortunate phrase there after my visit to the doctor) with this track from Vancougar. Check out their site for another great song “Credit ‘Tard” which almost made it into the show instead of this.
Length: 3:21 / Size: 3.2MB / Label: Scratch Records / Catno: SCRATCH#53 / Download
Baby Boy - Crystal Skulls
A band from Seattle who I actually like, there’s a pleasant surprise! Now I’m not writing off the music of a city, I just wasn’t that impressed with the Seattle “scene” of the early 90s despite being just the right impressionable age. I always got the impression various people were trying just that bit too hard. On the other hand, this song and band I really like.
Length: 3:59 / Size: 5.5MB / Label: Suicide Squeeze / Catno: S051 / Download
Futuristic Ain’t Shit To Me - Chilly Gonzales
I go through phases of either really liking or not being sure about this track. It has strange lyrics and is fairly self-indulgent at times however I keep giving it a go and actually really enjoyed it while making the show. I recommend giving it a few listens over time before writing it off completely.
Length: 2:53 / Size: 3.4MB / Label: Kitty Yo / Catno: KY00035CD
